Evergreen Washelli has been a staple in my family for 4 generations. They did an amazing job with my parents' viewing, funeral, and interment this year. I'm so grateful for their assistance during a time of tragedy and sorrow.

Services
The funeral home complex includes multiple distinct venues. The Celebration Hall functions as a multi-purpose reception space seating approximately 100 guests, commonly used for catered post-service gatherings. The Tribute Center accommodates up to 150 attendees and features state-of-the-art technology including a large video screen, computer capabilities, internet access, and web broadcasting for remote participation. Several smaller visitation rooms provide options for more intimate services. The chapel offers flexible configuration for religious events. The cemetery grounds encompass the Pacific Lutheran Mausoleum, the San Juan Mausoleum with single and companion placements, the Washelli Columbarium with bronze and glass-front niches, and the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery with its historic Chimes Tower and U.S.S. Constitution carronades. The Washelli Columbarium remains open daily 9am–5pm with a 12pm–12:30pm closure; the main funeral home office maintains the same hours with 24/7 phone availability. The cemetery itself operates from sunrise to sunset.
Evergreen Washelli emphasizes personalized tributes led by certified celebrants, with facilities designed to accommodate both intimate family gatherings and larger memorial events. The staff creates tribute videos from family photos and handles event planning including catered receptions.
Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home & Cemetery occupies a 144-acre memorial park along Aurora Avenue North, making it the largest cemetery in Seattle. The property traces its origins to 1884, when David Denny—one of Seattle's founders—established Oak Lake Cemetery. The name "Washelli" derives from a Makah word meaning "west wind," adopted in 1914 when the American Necropolis Association purchased the property. A competing Evergreen Cemetery opened across Aurora Avenue in 1919; the two merged in 1922, with the unified name Evergreen Washelli adopted in 1962.
The funeral home itself launched in 1972 and relocated to expanded facilities on the Evergreen side of the property in 1994. A further expansion in 2008 added modern reception rooms to accommodate growing demand for celebration-of-life gatherings. Today, the operation serves families throughout King, Pierce, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties from its campus at 11111 Aurora Ave N.
What distinguishes Evergreen Washelli in the current market is its breadth of disposition options. The location offers traditional flame cremation, water cremation (alkaline hydrolysis), and human composting—making it one of the few Seattle-area providers with all three methods available. The cemetery grounds include a dedicated Veterans' Memorial Cemetery established in 1927, complete with two carronades from the U.S.S. Constitution flanking the walkway to the Chimes Tower.

Went to out flowers on my brothers grave and all the military grave stones in the whole cemetery are dirty.
Stacie and staff are amazing and compassionate. She went above and beyond my expectations. Very respectful and responsive. Thank you so much, your help eased our pain from unnecessary stress. Thank you.
