Families meet by appointment Monday through Friday, with 24/7 availability for bringing loved ones into care.

Emmick Family Funeral Services ~ Lake View operates from a distinctive location inside Seattle's historic Lake View Cemetery on Capitol Hill, offering a casual office environment rather than a traditional funeral home facility. Founded on the belief that families deserve better, more affordable end-of-life options, the business has remained locally owned while most regional competitors sold to multinational corporations. Craig Emmick, a licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer for nearly 50 years, established the company with his wife after raising their family in West Seattle. In 2014, their son Michael completed his apprenticeship and college mortuary science courses, becoming a licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer and continuing the family's second generation of service.
The Emmicks designed their operation to eliminate the sales pressure and high overhead of conventional funeral homes. Without large viewing rooms or chapels to maintain, they pass cost savings directly to families while still providing full-service cremation, burial, aquacremation, and green burial arrangements. Services can be arranged by telephone, fax, email, in-home visits, or at their office facilities.
We had a wonderful experience working with Emmick and Lake View. Desirée was so helpful and kind, quick to respond and handle any question or need that arose. She and the rest of the team made what could have been a very difficult time so much easier for us.
