Grove Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park operates at the intersection of historic grounds and contemporary facilities. The Elliott family established Grove Hill Memorial Park in 1911 at what is now Ferguson Road and Samuell Boulevard in East Dallas. More than 60,000 people have been interred there, with markers dating to the 1800s as families relocated loved ones to the property.
The funeral home itself was constructed in 1988 adjacent to the cemetery, creating a seamless environment for families to arrange funeral, cremation and burial services at connected locations. Grove Hill joined the Dignity Memorial network in 1989, with the cemetery following in 2000. The property received official perpetual care designation in the 1950s when it was reorganized as a not-for-profit corporation.
