The original East Pittsburgh location at 700 Linden Avenue has served the community since 1938, when Bridget O'Hara Lanigan—one of Pennsylvania's first licensed female funeral directors—completed construction on the current building. The Turtle Creek/Monroeville location underwent a significant building addition in 2007, adding 3 spacious visitation suites, a coffee room, and a children's room. An on-site crematory was added to the Turtle Creek/Monroeville campus in August 2016.
Services are arranged at family convenience, including home visits for arrangements and special transportation for family members requiring assistance.
Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. traces its origins to 1905 when John H. Lanigan founded the business on Cable Avenue in East Pittsburgh. The firm has remained under continuous family ownership for four generations, with Patrick T. Lanigan serving as third-generation funeral director since 1975. The funeral home operates two locations: the original East Pittsburgh facility at 700 Linden Avenue and a second location in Turtle Creek/Monroeville at 1111 Monroeville Avenue.
