The business traces its origins to 1966 when Charles L. Butler and his wife Karen founded Butler's Chapel of Roses with a guiding principle: "overspending is not a sign of devotion." Charles Butler partnered with the Stumpff family in 1977, and the Dyer family joined in summer 2017 to form the current Butler-Stumpff & Dyer entity. The Stumpff family's involvement in Oklahoma funeral care dates back to 1909 when Keith and Doris Stumpff opened their first chapel in Bartlesville. Today, the combined operation serves Tulsa, Turley, and Sand Springs with a stated mission to provide affordable options without financial hardship.
