Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home occupies a notable position in Akron's North Hill neighborhood at 936 North Main Street. The business traces its origins to the 1940s as Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home, operating as a family-owned establishment for decades before corporate acquisition. In 1996, Carriage Services Inc., a Houston-based funeral home conglomerate, purchased the firm. By 2002, the corporate transition had displaced most of the original North Hill staff.
David Moore, who began his funeral service career at this same location in 1985 as a high school student in Akron North High School's DCT program, returned as Managing Partner in 2002 to restore local presence. In July 2013, Moore completed the purchase from Carriage Services, returning the funeral home to family ownership after 17 years. The facility now operates as part of Moore Family Funeral Homes, which expanded in April 2021 to include Bacher Funeral Homes in Norton and Portage Lakes.
