The cemetery spans 87 acres of landscaped grounds featuring mature trees, seasonal foliage, and curated gardens. The property includes a chapel for services, multiple mausoleum structures (both private and community, indoor and outdoor), and a dedicated veterans memorial area in the northernmost section. Waterside views are available throughout the grounds centered on the entrance waterfall and pond feature.
Davenport Memorial Park emphasizes convenience and peace of mind through remote arrangement capabilities and flexible pre-planning options with financial incentives.
Davenport Memorial Park occupies an 87-acre tract of former farm ground on the northern outskirts of Davenport, Iowa, where it has served Scott County families since 1929. The cemetery's development plan leveraged existing ground contours rather than flattening them—a small valley at the entrance became an idyllic duck pond with its own waterfall, the first landscape architecture of this type in the community.
A broad double boulevard leads from this entrance to the property's bell tower, positioned on one of the highest points of ground in the metro area and used as a ground reference point by pilots approaching the airport. Mature trees with seasonal foliage, colorful flowers, statuary, brickwork, bronze features, and stonework accent the memorial gardens throughout the grounds.
The cemetery offers both traditional in-ground burial and above-ground entombment, with specialized sections including a dedicated veterans area and Catholic cemetery section.
