The Chapel of Memories Mausoleum, opened in 1941 and expanded multiple times, includes the Corridor of Faith, Corridor of Light, Chapel Rooms, Garden of Prayer (1947), Corridor of Peace with Statue of Immortality and Venetian glass mosaics (1957), and the Corridor of Hope (1997). The Family Center and Library, added in 1999, provides dedicated reception space. The property maintains extensive gardens, fountains, statuary, and mature tree canopy throughout.
Cedar Memorial structures its services around the principle of eliminating family burden through advance planning, with specialized counselors working alongside funeral directors to coordinate both immediate needs and long-term AfterCare support.
Cedar Memorial traces its origins to 1929, when founder Carl K. Linge purchased farmland along the main road between Cedar Rapids and Marion and introduced a revolutionary cemetery concept to Iowa: the park plan. Rather than traditional upright monuments, Linge's vision featured enduring bronze memorials set flush with the ground, creating an unbroken landscape of natural beauty. Three generations of the Linge family have since expanded this vision into one of the Midwest's most recognized cemetery and funeral home operations.

The property has grown substantially from its rural origins, now situated within the developed corridor between the two cities it once connected.
