Services
The cemetery occupies a historic property in the heart of McKinney. Visitors are asked to respect mourners and proceed quietly through the grounds.
Pecan Grove Cemetery occupies a central place in McKinney's history as the largest historic cemetery in Collin County. The property traces its origins to 1870, when five partners purchased the land and held ownership until their deaths. Today, more than 9,000 individuals rest on the grounds, including many founders of McKinney and Collin County.
Unlike commercial funeral homes, Pecan Grove Cemetery operates under the direction of a volunteer board of directors. The cemetery does not provide funeral services directly; families work through their chosen funeral home to arrange burials, then coordinate with cemetery staff for interment scheduling.
RIP
This is just ridiculous... Guess I'm better off bringing my own lawn care stuff. How can a cemetery be so disrespectful.
This is a nice old cemetery in town. I have many relatives buried out here. Many I never had the chance to meet. There are many trees and even though it is in a busy area, it was peaceful while we were there.
