Earthman Resthaven traces its origins to 1889, when James Bradshaw Earthman Sr., a blacksmith and livery stable operator in Taylor, Texas, began assisting families with funeral needs after the town acquired a horse-drawn hearse. By 1904, Earthman had relocated to Houston, establishing Earthman and McCarty Undertaking Company at 715 Main Street. The business became one of Texas's first licensed funeral providers and grew into one of the largest family-owned funeral companies in the United States.
Today, Earthman Resthaven operates from a modern facility at 13102 North Freeway, just southwest of George Bush Intercontinental Airport and convenient to Spring, The Woodlands, and Atascocita. The property combines a contemporary funeral home with Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, founded in 1928 on what was then rural farmland. The 105-acre cemetery now offers a respite from urban Houston, with mature trees, sweeping lawns, and a brick-and-iron entry.
The funeral home's chapel accommodates up to 200 guests with traditional pew seating, while a dedicated reception room supports catered events ranging from breakfast buffets to sit-down dinners. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide natural light throughout the lobby and reception areas.

This is the worst experience besides losing my mother and burying her at the last minute at this location. If I could have had a chance I would have a made a different choice. Experience from the beginning to this day has been bad. I paid off my mothers headstone as per my con...
This was such an awesome experience with everyone we dealt with. They are so caring, thoughtful and they communicate with you during the entire process from planning to burial. Even after the funeral they reach out to you and offer their help. They made framed pictures of my M...
These people are awful. They charged almost $2k just to pickup and store our loved one for less than 24 hours. Stay away from this funeral home. They will rip you off at every turn. They will take advantage of you at your time of need. Unbelievable.
Thank you for the attention, care and understanding. The planning was very accurate and precise, the ceremony was very thoughtful and respectful. Definitely recommend
