Services
Transparent pricing is emphasized, with itemized price lists available for funeral/cremation services, burial merchandise, cremation merchandise, and package options. CareCredit financing is offered for immediate needs.
Opened February 2022, the purpose-built facility replaces the former North Lamar location with contemporary design elements uncommon in funeral homes. The entrance features a wooden awning leading to open, naturally lit spaces. Two staterooms accommodate private family time, while a dedicated catering kitchen supports in-house food service ranging from breakfast buffets to seated dinners. The speakeasy-style hospitality room provides an alternative gathering space with full bar setup. The crematory was specifically engineered for witness ceremonies, with comfortable viewing accommodations and family participation options. A coffee lounge serves as informal gathering space, and the building maintains pet-friendly policy.
Services emphasize personalization over template ceremonies, with event staff conducting detailed intake interviews to design tributes reflecting individual life stories.
Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes & Cremation Services traces its Austin roots to the same year the Driskill Hotel opened, founded by Thurlow Weed and Jack Corley—both born into family funeral businesses—with a philosophy of neighborly service. The original downtown location at 17th and Lavaca moved to North Lamar in the early 1950s, then to its current 5416 Parkcrest Drive address in February 2022. The new 22,500-square-foot facility represents a significant departure from traditional funeral home design, featuring an upscale, designer aesthetic with neutral tones, natural light, and casual elegance anchored by a fireplace and coffee lounge.
The Parkcrest location east of Mount Bonnell consolidates care operations under one roof, including a care center and private on-site crematory. Laurens Fish III, grandson of founder Jack Corley, currently oversees operations, continuing the family legacy while adapting to 21st-century service expectations. The firm has expanded to four Austin-area locations since the 1997 addition of the South Congress chapel, followed by Lake Travis in 2008 and Leander in 2012.
