Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home has anchored Northwest Portland's funeral and cemetery needs since 1952, when founder Fred Collins purchased the property from Corrine Barber and commissioned Kansas City landscape designer Max Fuller to create a mid-century memorial park. The 55-acre grounds feature Carrara marble statues carved by Milan artist Guido Orlando, personally installed by Collins himself.
The Collins family owned and operated the funeral home, crematory, flower shop and cemetery until Fred Collins' death in 1975. Today the property sits adjacent to Portland's Forest Park with expansive views of the Tualatin Valley and Oregon Coast Range mountains.
