Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park has served Greater Omaha since 1910, making it one of the region's longest-operating cemeteries. The 180-acre property sits on the highest elevation point in town, offering sweeping views of Omaha from its oak- and maple-lined grounds. The cemetery's crown jewel is the Westlawn Mausoleum, built between 1913 and 1915 in Classic Revival and Greco-Roman style by Henry Bacon—the same architect who designed the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home opened on the cemetery property in 1998, creating a combined facility where families can handle funeral, cremation, and burial needs without traveling between locations. The operation is part of the Dignity Memorial network, which emphasizes standardized service protocols across its locations.
The cemetery balances its historic character with contemporary additions, including the 2019 opening of private family hedge estates near the historic mausoleum and an 8-phase cremation garden surrounding the 1931 Art Deco Singing Tower.
We dealt with Mary who was wonderful. She explained everything in detail, was compassionate and patient with changes we wanted to make. Her calm demeanor was appreciated. The thank you notes and registration book were beautiful.
