Metcalf Funeral Home traces its roots to founder Robert Metcalf, who began his funeral directing career with Roper & Sons before establishing his own business in 1961. The firm operated as a privately-held family business until 1992, when it was sold to a chain. In early 2004, Metcalf returned to local ownership by becoming part of the Roper & Sons family—reuniting two of Lincoln's most established funeral service names. The chapel is located at 245 N 27th Street in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the intersection of 27th and P Streets.
