These are the only folks that will help you through your loss. My dad and mom were taken care of exponentially. Wonderful staff. Thank you.
The Lincoln location features two chapels designed for interfaith services. The main chapel seats up to 200 guests beneath a colorful stained glass lighted window. A secondary chapel accommodates 50 guests and connects to the main space via closed-circuit television and sound for overflow seating. A private family room seats 30 for those preferring to remain out of public view. State rooms provide visitation space for floral tributes, photographs, and memorabilia. The reception room includes a complete kitchen and on-staff hostess, available at no charge with traditional services. Multiple private meeting rooms accommodate both large family gatherings and intimate pre-planning consultations. All areas are handicapped accessible.
The firm structures its services around what it terms "signature service"—emphasizing personal contact, respect, and dignity. Pre-need arrangements are handled by licensed sellers Rick Carney (20+ years industry experience, architectural drafting degree) and Laurie McAdams (30-year background in aging services, retired from City of Lincoln).

Butherus-Maser & Love Funeral Home traces its origins to 1883 when it began as Heaton Mortuary in Lincoln, Nebraska. The firm has weathered multiple ownership transitions and name changes while maintaining its independence from corporate funeral conglomerates. In 1952, Wayne Reese, Earl Christiansen, John Maser Jr., and John Love purchased the business, establishing the foundation for today's ownership structure.
The funeral home relocated to its current 4040 A Street location in 1962, a move designed to accommodate the growing Lincoln community. The current ownership structure solidified in 1984 when the name changed to Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home. Today, Patrick McCashland and John Love serve as co-owners, with Love representing the third generation of his family in the business after assuming ownership in 2017.
The firm emphasizes its local, neighbor-based identity—staff members are described as fellow church members, community group participants, and civic supporters rather than distant corporate employees.
