The funeral home features an interdenominational chapel, three visitation rooms, a lounge, covered patio, and coffee lounge. The chapel's flexible configuration supports both intimate gatherings and larger services. A well-lit parking area serves visitors. The cemetery operates sunrise to sunset with guided tours available by appointment.
Lakewood accommodates both traditional religious services and contemporary celebrations of life, with multicultural funeral capabilities including incense burning and ritual washing.
Lakewood Funeral Home & Memorial Park has anchored Jackson's west side since 1927, when Lakewood Memorial Park first opened its gates. Today, the sister properties operate across from each other on Clinton Boulevard, allowing families to coordinate funeral services, cremation, and cemetery arrangements in one location. The funeral home itself spans more than 8,400 square feet with an additional 2,400 square feet of covered outdoor areas.
The facility balances contemporary amenities with preserved heritage elements. A 14-by-17-foot Tree of Life stained-glass window—salvaged and restored from the former funeral home location—now anchors the interdenominational chapel. Smaller stained-glass pieces from the original building were also repurposed into the current design.
Lakewood Memorial Park's 90+ year history is visible in its three lakes, magnolia trees, and live oaks that frame the burial grounds. The cemetery offers traditional ground burial, lawn crypts, mausoleum entombment, and dedicated cremation gardens.
