Honsa Family Funeral Home traces its roots to 1962, when Jim Honsa began his career as a funeral director in White Bear Lake. For over three decades, Jim built relationships throughout the community through his involvement with the White Bear Lake Chamber of Commerce, White Bear Lions Club, and St. Mary of the Lake Church. In 1994, Jim realized his longtime goal of independent ownership, constructing the funeral home alongside his wife Joan and daughter Terry.
Following Jim's death in 2004, Terry Honsa assumed leadership and maintained the family's commitment to individualized service for families at-need and those preplanning arrangements. The business entered its third generation in 2020 when Julie Honsa, a University of Minnesota graduate, joined the staff. The funeral home operates from a single location on County Road E East, serving White Bear Lake and surrounding communities.
