Rabenhorst Funeral Home & Crematory East traces its origins to 1866, when Confederate veteran Charles Ferdinand Rabenhorst officially entered the funeral business after making caskets as a cabinetmaker. The East Baton Rouge location at 11000 Florida Boulevard opened in 1978 to serve the growing community. The facility features a traditionally styled chapel with stained-glass windows seating 450 guests, three large parlors for flexible memorial configurations, and comprehensive audiovisual capabilities for personalized tributes. In 2019, both Rabenhorst locations became part of the Dignity Memorial network while maintaining family leadership through fourth-generation directors Alvin P. Rabenhorst Jr., Karen Rabenhorst Kerr, David L. Rabenhorst, and G. Scott Rabenhorst.
