The original Babione building has been significantly expanded from its 1957 footprint. The facility now features the Addison Chapel, Palmetto Reception Room, multiple visitation spaces, and a large-capacity chapel configurable for various event types. The building includes a covered carport, expanded parking from the 1976 addition, and modern amenities throughout. The space functions as a Celebration of Life center designed for personalized funeral celebrations, with on-site piano/organ, full audio and video equipment, and reception areas capable of hosting catered events. The 2010 renovation modernized the facility while maintaining its historic presence in the Pearl City neighborhood.
The funeral home emphasizes personalized memorial options, from champagne toasts with Atlantic Ocean ash scattering to full traditional services with catered receptions.
Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center occupies the original Babione Funeral Home location on North Federal Highway in Boca Raton's Pearl City neighborhood. Founded in 1957 by Robert J. Babione and a business partner, the facility began as a modest building with a single visitation room, office, casket selection room, and small preparation room. Following Robert's death in 2004, his wife Helen Babione assumed ownership and continues to operate the business today.
The funeral home underwent significant expansion in 1976, adding a foyer, garage, covered carport, second visitation room, new preparation room, and additional parking. A second addition followed in 1988, with a comprehensive renovation completed in 2010. In 2014, the original Babione Funeral Home merged with Kraeer Funeral Home—founded in 1952 by R. Jay Kraeer in Pompano Beach—to form the current Babione-Kraeer operation. The location became part of the Dignity Memorial network in 1996.
The facility serves families of all ethnicities and faith backgrounds throughout South Florida, with particular attention to veteran services through partnerships with veterans organizations.
