The current building was constructed in 1956 by Raymond McCarthy and has served Pueblo families from this location for nearly 70 years. The facility features a flexible chapel adaptable for religious services, a dedicated coffee lounge, and comfortable sitting areas. Meeting space is available for corporate and organizational use beyond funeral services.
T.G. McCarthy provides white-glove service level care with audio/video equipment for memorial tributes and meeting space available for corporate or organizational use.
T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home holds the distinction of being the first licensed funeral home in Colorado, established in 1887 by Timothy George McCarthy—a figure who also served as Pueblo's first mayor and county sheriff. The business remained family-operated for nearly three-quarters of a century before Raymond McCarthy built the current facility at 329 Goodnight Ave in 1956, relocating from the original downtown location at 110-112 N. Main Street. Today, the funeral home operates as part of the Dignity Memorial network while maintaining its historic presence in Pueblo.
The facility offers flexible chapel space configurable for religious services, a dedicated coffee lounge for families, and comprehensive cremation and burial options. Services include complete funeral planning available remotely via phone and email with electronic signature capabilities—allowing families to arrange services without visiting the funeral home in person.
