Darling & Fischer Garden Chapel traces its roots to 1931, when Rev. Roger Darling founded Darling Funeral Home at the corner of 10th and Santa Clara Streets. Clyde Fischer later purchased the business, giving the chapel its current name. Today, the facility at 471 E. Santa Clara Street serves families throughout San Jose and surrounding neighborhoods including North San Jose, Blossom Valley, and Willow Glen. The business operates under Managing Partner Nicholas Jon Welzenbach, a second-generation funeral professional with nearly 20 years of experience. The Garden Chapel location maintains FD 557 licensure and offers 24/7 telephone availability, including major holidays.
