Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park & Mortuary operates on a 29-acre campus in Costa Mesa that combines two distinct histories. Harbor Rest Memorial Park was founded in the 1950s by the Flanagan family, with Harbor Lawn Mortuary added to the property in 1978. That same year, Ronald Reagan—then California's 33rd governor—raised the flag at the entrance and served as keynote speaker at the annual Memorial Day service. Mt. Olive Cemetery, established in the 1960s to serve Jewish communities in Orange County and Long Beach, merged with Harbor Rest to form the single cemetery property that operates today.
The funeral home and cemetery function as an integrated operation, allowing families to arrange burial, cremation, and memorial services without transferring remains between facilities. The property includes manicured gardens, meandering walkways, and stately trees across its 29 acres.
